General Information on Data Processing

Scope of the Processing of Personal Data

We process the personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website along with our content and services. The processing of our users’ personal data generally only takes place with the user’s consent. An exception applies where prior consent cannot be obtained for factual reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by statutory provisions.

Legal Basis for the Processing of Personal Data

Insofar as we obtain the consent of the data subject for processing operations involving personal data, Art. 6(1)(a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) serves as the legal basis.

Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR serves as the legal basis where processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party. This also applies to processing operations required for pre-contractual measures.

Insofar as processing of personal data is necessary to fulfil a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

Should the processing of personal data be necessary to protect the vital interests of the data subject or of another natural person, Art. 6(1)(d) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

Where processing is necessary to protect a legitimate interest of our company or of a third party, and provided the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not override that interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR serves as the legal basis for the processing.

Data Erasure and Storage Period

The data subject’s personal data will be erased or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies. Data may also be stored where provided for by European or national legislators in EU regulations, laws or other provisions to which the controller is subject. Data will likewise be blocked or erased when a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned provisions expires, unless further storage is necessary for the conclusion or fulfilment of a contract.

Purpose of the Data Processing

Storage in log files is carried out to ensure the functionality of the website. The data also helps us optimise the website and ensure the security of our information technology systems. No conclusions about the data subject are drawn from this data, nor is it evaluated for marketing purposes. These purposes also constitute our legitimate interest in the data processing pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Right to Object and Removal

The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of data in log files is essential for the operation of the website. Consequently, the user has no option to object.

Cookies and Local Storage

No Use of Cookies

This website does not use cookies. No session cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party cookies (e.g. for analytics or marketing purposes) are set.

Notice Flag in Local Browser Storage

To avoid showing the privacy notice on the homepage every time the site is visited, a single technical piece of information is stored in your browser’s local storage, simply recording that the notice has already been seen. This information contains no personal data, is not transmitted to our servers, and serves solely to support the website’s functionality. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in providing a user-friendly website pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

You can delete this information at any time via your browser settings (usually under "Clear browsing data" or "Manage website data").

Rights of the Data Subject

If your personal data is processed, you are a data subject within the meaning of the GDPR and are entitled to the following rights vis-à-vis the controller:

You have the right to request information about your personal data stored with us, including its origin and the purpose of its processing. We will provide you with this information in writing within four weeks. You may also request that we correct your personal data if it is inaccurate, or block or erase it if it becomes apparent that its storage or processing is unlawful. Please always specify precisely which data your request concerns. We will comply with your request without undue delay.

Our company will also correct, block or erase data without your request if we become aware of inaccurate data or unlawful storage or processing. Please note that any blocking or erasure is subject to statutory retention obligations. Please also note that we must be able to verify your identity when you exercise your rights.
